Business Administration Post Graduate Diploma - Global Business Management

Overview

Enhance your knowledge of Canadian and international business management and strategy with the Business Administration Post Graduate Diploma in Global Business Management. You'll develop cross-cultural experience studying with classmates from a variety of backgrounds. You'll gain work experience through an internship while also building your network of professional contacts.

This is an academic credit program offered through the Faculty of Arts, Science and Management.

• How companies manage operations, strategy and resources for a the global market
• Expand your knowledge of business ethics as well as Canadian and international business management
• In a program-related work co-op offering industry experience, networking and skill-building

Requirements and courses

Admission Requirements

1. An accredited Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three academic years from a recognized institution.
2. C+ in English 12 or equivalent or successful English assessment or IELTS 6.0 or equivalent

Students are recommended to take ENG 104 in the first semester. Students who do not have a band score of Academic IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 20, PTE 50, CAEL 60 or higher in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking will be required to take ENG 104 in the first semester.

The number of qualified applicants normally exceeds the number of seats available therefore fulfillment of the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission. Admission is offered through a selective admission process.

Year 1

• BUS - 105 Principles of Business
• BUS - 150 Principles of Management
• BUS - 248 Introduction to Non-Profit Management
• BUS - 255 Human Resources Management

One of the following:

• ENG - 160 Effective Organizational Writing
• ENG - 166 Effective Organizational Communications

Plus three electives totalling 9 elective credits chosen from courses numbered 100 or higher that transfer to a BC degree-granting institution. Recommended electives are BUS 360, BUS 370, BUS 375 or POL 203.

Students must complete EMP 010, a 15-hour, non-credit course as a prerequisite to BUS 500.

Completion Requirements

• A minimum GPA of 2.00 is required.
• The program must be completed within 5 years.
• Courses counted toward the prerequisite degree may not also be counted toward the Post Graduate Diploma.
• A minimum of 50% of the program must be completed at North Island College.
