Program Overview


Parts and Warehousing Person Foundation Certificate

Overview

Gain foundational skills to support ordering, warehousing and inventory for a variety of industries like automotive, commercial transportation and resource trades. Learn how parts and warehouse products move from manufacturing to consumers, how to receive and sort parts and materials and maintain shipping and receiving records. Earn Level 1 Parts and Warehousing technical training credit and work-based training hours towards the Interprovincial Red Seal certification.

Admission Requirements

  • C in English 10 or equivalent or successful English assessment
  • C in Math 10 or equivalent or successful Math assessment for Trades
  • Or successful completion of FSK 030 if the above requirements are not met.
  • High School graduation is preferred provided the applicant meets or exceeds the stated prerequisites.

  • PWF - 102 Technical Skills in Warehousing
  • PWF - 103 Warehouse Safety
  • PWF - 104 Accident Prevention in Warehousing
  • PWF - 105 Receiving Material in Warehousing
  • PWF - 106 Material Handling in Warehousing
  • PWF - 107 Tools and Equipment in Warehousing
  • WSF - 019 Orientation to WHMIS Online (for students not having current, valid WHMIS certification)

Completion Requirements

  • Students will be required to achieve a minimum C (Letter Grade Scale 2) in each course to pass the program.
  • Student will be required to pass all industry certificate courses to achieve program completion requirements.
  • 100% of the program must be completed at North Island College.

Careers

After the Foundations Certificate, continue on your apprenticeship path to complete your Red Seal certification as a Parts Technician.
