Course Description
The aim of this diploma is to equip learners with the skills and knowledge required to work in the IT sector or progress to further study.
Target Group
Compulsory education leavers (16+) and learners who want to gain an accessible route into Higher Education with the opportunity to progress on to undergraduate courses that require a higher level of study skills.

How You Will Learn
This diploma is delivered with a flexible classroom-based method, through a variety of course materials, case studies, discussions, presentations, enquiry-based learning, and problem-solving activities.
Assessment
Assessments will be designed according to the guidelines of each module specification. In general, the assessments will enable learners to demonstrate achievement of learning outcomes across the individual elements of the programme. The range of assessments utilised will normally include: essays, reports, presentations, and other structured assignments and examinations.
Structure of Programme
These qualifications are vocational as they can support a learner's career progression. To meet QUALIFI’s aim to provide an appropriate assessment method each unit will be assessed through tasks that will be written in a way to make them realistic ‘work-related’ tasks wherever possible.
Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Procedures
Learners will need to demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and original thought, problem-solving, and recommendations on actions will also be asked for from learners where appropriate for the unit. Intellectual rigour will be expected appropriate to the level of the qualification.
Grading System
These qualifications are pass/fail.
Entry Requirement
Students should be in possession of either of the following:
- Secondary School Certificate, demonstrating a basic level of English to benefit from the course
- Candidates with relevant work/vocational experience will be considered on an individual basis
- A qualification equivalent to MQF/EQF Level 3

In all cases, an interview may be requested by the Admission Board in order to ascertain that the candidates admitted to the course have sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment criteria.
