Overview

BA (Hons) Animation is an interdisciplinary programme designed to prepare students for careers in the animation, games, and film industries. The course integrates both traditional and cutting-edge techniques, emphasising real-time 2D and 3D visual technologies. With a focus on performance-based animation, character design, and production workflows, students gain hands-on experience in creating animation for various media, from film and television to games.

Level 4

In the first year, students will establish the essential skills for animation and visual effects, introducing them to the software development lifecycle and the cultural context of the animation industry.

Level 5

In the second year, students advance their skills by focusing on the design and creation of assets for animation and visual effects.

Level 6

Entry Requirements

• UCAS Tariff: 64 points
• A-Level: CC
• Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma: MMP
• GCSE: Three GCSEs at a minimum grade C/4, including English Language or Level 2 Equivalents
• IELTS: 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 to be achieved in each band
