Course overview
Go Further with Adobe Express is designed for those ready to build on their basic skills and explore more advanced features. You’ll learn how to upload and edit images, apply effects, use quick actions like background removal and GIF creation, and animate text and icons.
The course also covers video creation, including adding narration, music, and trimming clips, as well as exporting your final edits.
You’ll gain confidence working with PDFs, editing content, combining files, and understanding supported formats.
Finally, discover how to collaborate effectively, share templates, give feedback, and use shared libraries and brand styles to stay consistent.

First Part (3 hours): Working with Images, Graphics & Effects
- Uploading and importing images (.PSD, .AI, .PDF files)
- Replacing images in templates
- Editing images: Resizing, cropping, and applying filters
- Adjusting image settings: Brightness, contrast, and saturation
- Adding effects and filters to images
- Adding icons and design elements
- Quick actions: Background removal, GIF creation, and resizing
- Animating text, icons, and images
Second Part (3 hours): Video Creation & Collaborative Design
- Video creation:
- Starting a video from scratch
- Adding narration, music & voiceovers
- Editing & trimming video
- Exporting videos
- Working with PDFs in Adobe Express:
- Understanding PDF conversions
- Editing PDF text & images
- Reordering and combining documents
- Supported file types (Photoshop, Illustrator, Word, PowerPoint)
- Collaborative Design:
- Working on projects with team members
- Sharing templates
- Adding comments & feedback
- Working with libraries and in-house corporate styles
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Upload and edit images, including PSD, AI, and PDF files.
- Apply filters, effects, and make image adjustments like cropping and resizing.
- Use quick actions such as background removal, GIF creation, and resizing.
- Animate text, icons, and images to enhance your designs.

Lisa joined Falmouth University as a Digital Skills Trainer in 2019 and delivers a wide range of digital skills courses to students, staff, and external delegates. Her key areas of expertise include Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Rush, Adobe Express, and Canva. With a background in graphic design, Lisa brings industry knowledge and valuable design and layout skills to her training sessions.
Computer & software requirements
You will need access to a laptop/desktop computer (Mac/PC). Adobe Express offers a free plan that includes basic features and templates. This can be used for the course. However, there are premium features, templates, and assets available through a paid subscription. You can access the free plan by visiting adobe.com/express.
