Course Overview

We are delighted to introduce our comprehensive series of Photoshop courses, designed to take you from a novice to a master user. These courses are structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience, starting from the absolute basics and progressing to an intermediate advanced level. Each course is modular and can be taken as a standalone class, allowing flexibility for learners based on their individual needs and prior knowledge.

Course Details

Getting Started with Photoshop

• Overview: If you’re new to Adobe Photoshop, our Getting Started with Adobe Photoshop course is a great first step into the world of image editing and creation.
• Course Details: By the end of the course, students will have a firm knowledge and good understanding of how to edit their images using Photoshop. They will feel comfortable navigating the workspace and using the correct tools and methods, to be able to successfully prepare an image for both print and the web.
• Session One (3 hours):
  • Identify what Photoshop is and its capabilities
  • Navigate your way around the workspace
  • Discover the difference between Vector and Raster images
  • Uncover the essential preferences that every beginner should know about
  • Create and work with new documents
  • Get to grips with rulers and guides inside Photoshop
  • Navigate documents by zooming and panning round them
  • Confidently save images from Photoshop
• Session Two (3 hours):
  • Prepare an image for both print and online use
  • Resize an image and change the resolution
  • Discover different colour modes and their uses
  • Apply both colour and tonal adjustments to images

Go Further with Photoshop

• Overview: Our Go Further with Photoshop course is perfect for anyone who wants to expand their skills and knowledge of the software.
• Course Details: By the end of the course attendees will be able to expand on their existing skillset using Photoshop and be able to confidently retouch and repair images to improve them. They will also gain the knowledge and the know-how to be able to edit and change just part of their image, taking their editing and manipulation skills up another level.
• Session One (3 hours):
  • Uncover how to crop and straighten an image
  • Get to know the various retouching tools and methods
  • Remove objects and distractions from images
  • Restore old photographs and images
• Session Two (3 hours):
  • Identify what selections are and why we need to make them
  • Confidently use the various selection tools
  • Modify, refine and save selections
  • Combine selections with adjustments

Propel Your Photoshop Skills to the Next Level

• Overview: Our Photoshop – propel your skills to the next level course is perfect for anyone who wants to expand their skills and knowledge of the application even further.
• Course Details: By the end of the course attendees will feel more confident when it comes to editing and manipulating images inside of Photoshop. They will be able to use the correct techniques and methods for adjusting their images in a non-destructive manner and be able to work efficiently with colour, brushes and patterns within the application.
• Session One (3 hours):
  • Create, edit and apply various colour gradients to images
  • Fill a line drawing or sketch with different colours
  • Be able to use the Brush tool effectively
  • Gain an understanding of Photoshop’s drawing and painting tools
  • Create a repeating pattern in Photoshop
• Session Two (3 hours):
  • Easily move images between each other
  • Apply different transformations to images
  • Create and work with Photoshop layers
  • Build engaging compositions

Photoshop Mastery

• Overview: Our Photoshop mastery course is perfect for anyone who wants to expand their skills and knowledge of the application to a more advanced level.
• Course Details: This course will help take your Photoshop skills to the next level, working with layers and the introduction of masks and smart objects will enable you to elevate your image editing and manipulation skills even further, allowing you to confidently master techniques and methods in retouching, compositing, and manipulation.
• Session One (3 hours):
  • Identify what layers are and the purpose of them
  • Confidently work with layers to build compositions
  • Apply layer blending modes and styles to improve images
  • Save layers as various file formats for efficiency
  • Build shape and type layers
• Session Two (3 hours):
  • Explore the purpose of a layer mask
  • Apply a layer mask to an image to work non destructively
  • Identify what a Smart Object is and its purpose
  • Convert a layer into a Smart Object
  • Apply an array of smart filters to an image

Eligibility or Prerequisites

• We require the completion of a short questionnaire. This assessment will help ensure the course content is appropriate for your skill level and learning goals.
