This course covers essential skills for working with PDFs, including creating, editing, and managing documents efficiently. It focuses on document security, digital signatures, form creation, collaboration tools, and accessibility compliance. Participants learn how to optimise PDFs, use advanced commenting features, and integrate Acrobat with other Adobe apps. The course also includes preparation for the ACP certification exam, ensuring proficiency in industry-standard PDF workflows for business, education, and creative fields.

How you'll learn

This course will be a blended course with 6 hours of self-study via our VLE and 16 hours of online delivery. The self-study part of the course will occur over 2 weeks after the online sessions have finished. The online part of the course is delivered through Microsoft Teams, ensuring a seamless learning experience.

Each session starts with a live broadcast from the tutor to introduce the topic and guide you through the resources. Our courses include various learning methods such as videos, quizzes, and exercises. The tutor remains available online for real-time support, making learning effective and enjoyable. Our blended teaching approach combines live and pre-recorded content, providing flexibility to learn at your own pace.

• Creating PDFs from different sources (Word, Excel, Web pages)
• Understanding PDF standards & compatibility
• Basic editing: Adding/deleting pages, text, and images
• Using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to edit scanned documents
• Enhancing PDFs with headers, footers, and watermarks

Session Two

• Adding hyperlinks, bookmarks, and navigation tools
• Comparing document versions
• Applying password protection & encryption
• Restricting editing and printing permissions
• Digital signature setup & validation
• Redacting sensitive information

Session Three

• Creating interactive forms with form fields
• Using automatic field detection
• Adding drop-downs, checkboxes, and digital signatures
• Collecting and managing form data

Session Four

• Using Acrobat's commenting and markup tools
• Initiating document reviews and tracking feedback
• Integrating Acrobat with cloud storage (Adobe Document Cloud, OneDrive, Google Drive)
• Exploring version control and audit trails

Session Five

• Making PDFs accessible for people with disabilities

Self Study

In the self-study portion of the course, you will explore exam preparation as well as the relevance of PDF content, including client goals, target audience, demographics, and accessibility.

This time will also be dedicated to completing practice exams to help you get ready for the final exam at the end of the course.
