Step into the music industry with pointblank LA’s new associate degree program, the Associate of Science in Music Production & Audio Engineering. This degree will give you all the skills you need to begin your career in the music industry, whether it be as a music producer, audio engineer, film/TV composer, sound designer, or recording artist. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, this degree is designed and taught by professional musicians who have worked with the likes of Lorde, Jay-Z, and Moby, among many other well-known artists. Plus, unlock the chance to study abroad in London for 1 or 2 terms and immerse yourself in the UK's iconic music scene and nightlife!

pointblank's grading and assessment methods help you get valuable feedback from industry expert instructors in order to gauge your progress, support your learning, and confirm your new skills. You will participate in the following types of exercises and assessment during this course:
- Formative Exercises - These are projects given to you throughout the term designed to provide feedback on your work and help you quickly improve your skills.
- Summative Assignments - These graded final assignments are designed to assess the new skills you've developed in each course, deepen your learning, and provide a final course grade of A, B, C, D, or F. They often simulate real industry scenarios, providing valuable experience through briefs and instructions similar to those you'll receive in professional situations.

FAQ
- What are the entrance requirements for degrees?
- Submit a Degree Program Application and non-refundable $100 Application Fee.
- Submit Government-Issued Photo ID and Proof of Graduation from High School, an accepted equivalent, or a passing score on an accepted Ability-to-Benefit (ATB) Test. If high school instruction was provided in a language other than English, submit an accepted Proof of English Proficiency.
- Submit two pieces of music by providing URLs for two downloadable files (hosted on a cloud server such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer) of original musical tracks you have created as the sole music producer. Each track must be at least 2 minutes in length and in a standard audio format of WAV, AIF, or MP3.
- Receive a Degree Acceptance Letter, the pointblank Music School Catalog, and sign a School Performance Fact Sheet and an Enrollment Agreement.
- Submit a refundable $400 Tuition Deposit at least 4 weeks prior to the program start date, and make the initial tuition payment before classes begin.
- What equipment do I need to buy?
- None at all! Every pointblank student has access to their own fully-equipped workstation in class and during their practical studio work outside of class time. If you decide to purchase equipment for your own home studio, we will be happy to help you arrange student discounts from our leading industry partners including Apple, Ableton, Pioneer, Native Instruments, Serato, Izotope, Waves, and more.
- When are the classes scheduled?
- For most 10-week courses within in this program, classes meet once per week for 4 hours (with a 15-minute break included) at one of the following session times:
- 10:00am – 2:00pm (Morning Session)
- 2:30pm – 6:30pm (Afternoon Session)
- 7:00pm – 11:00pm (Evening Session)

- I'm an international student. Can I enroll?
- International students have different options for attending pointblank classes depending on their country of origin. These include the B2 visitor visa, the ESTA visa waiver program, and more. We do not offer F or M student visas at this time.
