Program Overview

In pointblank's unique Piano Keyboard Skills - Level 1 course, you’ll learn essential techniques that will help you translate musical ideas to the piano keyboard. Teach your fingers to play rhythms, scales, melodies, and chords before reading lead sheets for popular songs and writing your own chord progressions. This 10-week course meets for two hours per week and is taught by professional keyboard instructors in small class sizes of 16 students or less. Unlock the keyboard techniques used by professional musicians, composers, and producers to help you take your music to the next level. No previous experience required.

Program Details

• Duration: 1 Term
• Start Dates: July 2025, October 2025, and more
• Class Schedule: Classes normally meet once per week for 2 hours on a weekday in one of the following timeslots:
  • 10:00am – 12:00pm (Morning Session)
  • 12:00pm – 2:00pm (Noon Session)
  • 2:30pm – 4:30pm (Afternoon Session)
• Class Size: 16 students or less
• Instructors: Professional keyboard instructors

Admission Requirements

• Age: 18 years of age or older (under age 18 may be accepted only with signed parental consent)
• Education: High school diploma or the equivalent
• Other: Provided a current pointblank Music School Catalog, sign a School Performance Fact Sheet and an Enrollment Agreement for their program

Equipment Requirements

• None at all! You can successfully pass the course using the electronic pianos and keyboards provided to you on pointblank's campus. However, owning a digital keyboard or MIDI keyboard controller (49 keys minimum) or an acoustic piano (normally 88 keys) is highly recommended so that you can practice at home.
