Program Overview

Learn to perform like a professional electric bassist with our 6-month Bass Award program. You’ll be taught in small groups to maximize your learning potential in two college-level courses: Bass Skills - Level 1 and Level 2. As a graduate you’ll come away with the power to deliver incredible bass performances on stage or in a studio and you'll join a global alumni community with the likes of pointblank London graduate and X-Factor winner Leona Lewis. Learn from professional bassists in groups of just 8 students or less and get the benefit of focused bass instruction.

    • Guitar
    • Ollie has recorded on music featured in adverts for companies such as Curzon and Uber, as well as on film soundtracks including the 2021 movie ‘Pieces of a woman’.
  • Nathaniel Nutter
    • Music Composition
    • Nathaniel Nutter writes and produces under the name Savah and Lost Triibe, and has performed music for over 10 years. He has accrued millions of streams on his independent releases on Spotify and has over 5 years of music teaching experience.
  • Kyle Marshall
    • Music Production
    • Producer from Portland, OR and one half of indie electronic group Meridian. The duo has supported Emmit Fenn and Forester on tour and garnered rapid success in the chill electronic scene through several EPs on Th3rd Brain Records.

  • Are there any admission requirements?
    • Admission into any college-level program at pointblank requires that the prospective student:
      • Be 18 years of age or older (under age 18 may be accepted only with signed parental consent)
      • Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent
      • Be provided a current pointblank Music School Catalog
      • Sign a School Performance Fact Sheetand an Enrollment Agreementfor their program
  • What equipment do I need to take this program?
    • An electric bass guitar is required to take this program. Amplifiers and all other equipment you will need are provided on campus. If you decide to buy additional equipment, we will be happy to facilitate student discounts for you with leading industry partners.
  • When are the classes scheduled?
    • For each 10-week course in musicianship, piano, guitar, or bass, classes normally meet once per week for 2 hours on a weekday in one of the following timeslots:
      • 10:00am – 12:00pm (Morning Session)
      • 12:00pm – 2:00pm (Noon Session)
      • 2:30pm – 4:30pm (Afternoon Session)
  • Do you provide student housing?

  • I work full time. Can I enroll?
    • Yes. Classes are usually available in the evening and on weekends, and we will be happy to arrange a class schedule that works around your other professional commitments. Please check with an Admissions Advisor to see what scheduling options are available by calling or by completing the Contact Us form.
  • I'm an international student. Can I enroll?
    • International students have different options for attending pointblank classes depending on their country of origin. These include the B2 visitor visa, the ESTA visa waiver program, and more. We do not offer F or M student visas at this time.
