Program Overview

pointblank LA's 12-month Music Production & DJ Performance Diploma will prepare you for a variety of roles including music producer, touring DJ, artist/performer, mixing engineer, sound designer, composer, and many more. You will learn a broad range of skills from creative and advanced production techniques, sound design, beatmaking, DJ techniques, and mixing and remixing. The courses are designed and taught by industry professionals who have decades of experience working in the music industry and know what it takes for you to make it as a successful professional. Plus, unlock the chance to study abroad in London for 1 or 2 terms and immerse yourself in the UK's iconic music scene and nightlife.

Program Details

• Duration: 4 Terms
• Start Dates: 2025: July, October; 2026: January, April, July, October
• Timetable: Three 4-hour classes per week for 4 terms. Daytime, evening & weekend class sessions available.

• Are there any entrance requirements?
  • Required Entrance Evaluation Submission: Students seeking to enter this Diploma program above are required to complete the pointblank Diploma Program Entrance Evaluation Submission Form prior to signing an Enrollment Agreement.
• What equipment do I need to buy?
  • None at all! Every pointblank student has access to their own fully-equipped workstation in class and during their practical studio work outside of class time.
• When are the classes scheduled?
  • For most 10-week courses within in this program, classes meet once per week for 4 hours (with a 15-minute break included) at one of the following session times: 10:00am – 2:00pm (Morning Session), 2:30pm – 6:30pm (Afternoon Session), 7:00pm – 11:00pm (Evening Session)
• Do you provide student housing?

• I work full time. Can I enroll?
  • Yes. Classes are usually available in the evening and on weekends, and we will be happy to arrange a class schedule that works around your other professional commitments.
• I'm an international student. Can I enroll?
  • International students have different options for attending pointblank classes depending on their country of origin. These include the B2 visitor visa, the ESTA visa waiver program, and more.
• Can I study abroad in London?
  • Yes! Degree, Diploma and Certificate programs offered through pointblank’s Los Angeles School offer the flexibility to take certain equivalent core courses at our flagship London School established in 1994.
