Program Information

Prepare for a career in the rapidly growing field of fiber optics technology. The new Fiber Optics Installer program offers comprehensive hands-on training in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks. Gain a full understanding of fiber optic infrastructure and master essential skills including installing, maintaining and repairing cutting-edge fiber optic cables and equipment.

The course covers the fundamentals of fiber and transmission theory, cable and connector types, splicing techniques and installation best practices. Students will acquire skills that are in high demand across telecommunications, internet service providers, cable TV companies and data centers.

Program Start Dates

The program starts in February 2025, on Saturdays, from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., from February 8 to March 29.

Students can earn the following credentials and certificates with successful completion of the course:

• Electronics Technicians Association (ETA) Fiber Optic Installer Certification
• Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Continuing Education Credits
• Light Brigade Digital Credentialing
