The Graduate Certificate in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) consists of twelve (12) credit hours of required and elective courses in a face-to-face format. Classes are held in the evening, making this perfect for working professionals.
Course Overview
Review the Graduate Certificate in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) curriculum guide. A grade of B- or higher is required in all courses applying toward the Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership, and an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for successful program completion.
Admission Requirements
To apply to the Graduate Certificate in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) program, students must submit:
- A UIndy graduate application
- Official transcripts from each university or college attended
- Three reference letters, at least two of which must be from someone familiar with your work or with you as a student
- A one to two-page personal statement that outlines your reasons for applying to the program
Additional Requirements for International Applicants
- A minimum TOEFL score of 79, IELTS score of 6.5, Duolingo English exam score of 110, or PTE Academic score of 53 for international students for whom English is not their first language, or who did not attend an English-speaking university
- Provide certification of finances, showing that you have adequate funds to support yourself during your time of study
- A photocopy of your passport to ensure I-20 information is accurate

Program Description
UIndy's Graduate Certificate in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) is designed for individuals who seek to enhance their knowledge and skills in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Small class sizes and an interdisciplinary approach rooted in an understanding of societal inequality make this the ideal program for those looking to build their knowledge around DEIB as well as enhance their skills in creating and leading diverse, inclusive workplaces and organizations. Additionally, students who want to continue building their credentials can apply all courses that have been successfully completed for this certificate to an MA in Applied Sociology.
