UIndy’s Master of Science in Data Analytics (MSDA) Program provides a comprehensive curriculum that prepares you to meet this demand. Learn to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to improve organizational performance and efficiencies. Your new proficiency in analyzing data will allow you to become a subject matter expert in this emerging, fast-growing, and ever-changing field.

About the MS in Data Analytics Program
The world of data and technology is ever-changing, and to ensure that UIndy best prepares its students for the data-driven business world of today, it continually updates its Data Analytics curriculum. Students can expect to have new content added to course syllabi on a semester-to-semester basis, and even see new courses in the curriculum. Additionally, UIndy keeps its MSDA Program in tune with market demands around learning formats.
Certificates
Students not only earn the Master of Science in Data Analytics degree but also three (3) Certificate credentials along the way. These Certificates consist of three (3) courses each, and when combined with a Program Capstone course, make up the ten (10) courses required for the master's degree. Each course is three (3) credit hours, and the full degree thus is thirty (30) hours. While the Certificates do “stack” into the MSDA degree, students can opt to complete a single Certificate instead.
Business Intelligence Certificate
This Certificate provides core knowledge and skills in business intelligence, data visualization, and business applications. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of key data analytics theories while gaining new skills through the use of industry-standard tools. Upon completion of the Certificate, the student has the knowledge and skills to thrive in today's data-driven world.
Business Analytics Certificate
This Certificate provides advanced knowledge and skills in predictive modeling, data management, and text mining. Students will gain an advanced understanding of sophisticated statistical techniques while gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools. Upon completion of the Certificate, the student will be able to manage large-scale data analytics projects and interpret the outputs of those efforts.
Artificial Intelligence and Data Strategy Certificate
This Certificate provides advanced knowledge and skills in data strategy, advanced statistical topics in data analytics, and the business application of artificial intelligence. Students will gain a sophisticated understanding of data analytics theories and techniques that are revolutionizing the business world. Upon completion of the Certificate, the student will be qualified to lead Data Analytics and AI Programs at their respective companies and organizations.
Program Length & Format
The program length is 30 credit hours. Students pursuing an individual Certificate are only required to complete 9 credit hours. The format is 100% online.
Curriculum
UIndy’s MSDA courses focus on the strategic and advanced uses of data analytics across a broad range of industries and functions. Subject areas include data mining, visualization, modeling, and management; text and predictive analytics; business intelligence; data strategy; and artificial intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence Curriculum
UIndy’s MSDA program has a strong focus on the technology that is changing the way businesses plan, staff, and operate: Artificial Intelligence, also known as AI. In an applied setting, it is the use of computing systems that are able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence. These include visual perception, speech recognition, content assimilation, and decision-making.
When Can I Start?
Classes run on a regular semester schedule. The full Business Intelligence Certificate (3 courses) is offered in the Fall (August) term. The full Business Analytics Certificate is offered in the Spring (January) term. The full Artificial Intelligence & Data Strategy Certificate is offered in the Summer (May) term. The capstone Applied Analytics course is taken by degree-seeking students across the duration of the program. Note that Certificates can be completed in any order. This means that new students can enroll and start classes in any term after being accepted into the program.
