BC Fire Code for the Fire Service

Course Details

This course is designed for Fire Service personnel responsible for conducting scheduled fire safety inspections or company inspections and provides an overview of fire safety requirements in and around buildings as well as the inspection, testing and maintenance requirements for fire protection systems in buildings.

The content includes a review of the adoption process of the British Columbia (BC) Fire Code (National Fire Code (NFC) and BC Amendments), the numbering system used, definitions, methods of compliance, Objectives and Functional Statements, Building and Occupant Safety, Fire Protection Equipment, and Administrative Provisions, and covers all three Divisions and all Parts of the BC Fire Code Regulation.

Assumptions are made that the learner understands the Fire Safety Act and basic fire development theory.
