Program Overview


Course Details

Building on the theory, assessment, treatment planning and somatic knowledge gained in COUN-5200, COUN-5202 and COUN-5208, this course offers the learner practical and highly participatory classroom sessions for developing the skills and competencies necessary for intervention with complex trauma child, youth and adult survivors. Specific focus in the course will be given to advanced safety and containment skills, processing and integration of traumatic memory, interventions to manage dissociative processes and building effective clinical relationships across differences of social identity and social location.
