Course Details
This Directed Studies course provides an opportunity for learners to engage in authentic work experience, carry out/execute a relevant, independent project or pursue specialized study, applying and synthesizing competencies acquired through conflict resolution training. Learners will apply their conflict resolution training to gain direct experience, strengthen their skills, build expertise and connect with a community of practice. This course can be applied to elective credit requirements in the Certificate in Collaborative Conflict Resolution (CCRE1) following approval by the program area (as per JIBC Procedure **). Directed Studies courses are not to duplicate material covered in other courses within the program, cannot be used in lieu of a required course, and should contain an element of originality. The learner(s) will develop a detailed project proposal with the support of the program area, the supervising faculty member and/or community partner. The course syllabus, which details the course goals, learning outcomes, course topics/content, evaluation profile, and credit value will be developed at the section level (as per JIBC Procedure **). The course syllabus will be approved by the program area according to procedure.
