Hazard, Risk, and Vulnerability Analyses (HRVA)
Course Details
Using a selection of tools, this course guides learners through the process of identifying hazards, evaluating risks, assessing vulnerabilities and resilience, and assessing impacts of potential disasters on communities and organizations. This course also discusses hazard mitigation, resilience plans, community engagement, and continuous improvement.
Course Format
- Instructor-Led Online: This online course is structured with weekly deadlines to keep learners on track and engaged in a fast-paced, interactive learning environment. Students are expected to participate actively in discussion boards, collaborate with peers, and complete assignments on a set schedule, ensuring steady progress throughout the course. All course assessments and activities must be completed to successfully pass this course.
- In-Class: In a classroom setting, this course is offered over two days. In addition to the scheduled public offerings, this course is available to organizations on a contract basis.
