Sexually Motivated Offence Risk Assessment & Case Management

Course Details

This course is designed for probation officers working in B.C. It describes the background and utilization of the risk assessment tools for clients who have committed sexually motivated offences (SMO). Participants will learn how to use risk assessment tools, identify risk factors specific to a client and target those factors for treatment and intervention in the context of case management and supervision plans. This course will be delivered in-person under the instruction of a clinical psychologist and community corrections instructor. Participants will learn how to use the tools to explore and estimate risk of re offence, to create a behavioural progression, assist a client with self-management plans and create a unified case management plan.
