This course builds on the knowledge gained in the Security Officer Orientation on the topics of mental health needs and trauma-informed practice (TIP). Security officers are further supported in achieving improved outcomes of interventions with individuals with mental health needs when they understand general strategies for effective communication and apply appropriate response strategies.
