Course Description
In this course, you will learn the basic principles of risk assessment; these principles form the foundation of case management of a young offender. We will begin by reviewing the history of risk assessment, examining key principles of risk management, and learning how to administer the Structured Assessment of Violence Risk in Youth (SAVRY) to a young offender. Finally, you will learn to develop a risk statement and service plan for a young offender based on the outcome of the SAVRY.
