MSP Billing Course | MOAA120

Course Overview

This course is an introduction to billing procedures using PS Regent Smart Series Billing computer software program. There will be an introduction to Medical Services Plan (MSP) fees and guidelines; preparation of physician accounts, registration of patients, simple billing to MSP, and specialized billing for WCB, ICBC, private insurance, out-of-province, home, and hospital visits. A variety of billing procedures for General Practice, Diagnostics, Service, and Surcharge billings will be utilized.


Upon completion of the MSP Billing Course, participants will have the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively navigate the MSP billing system, accurately submit claims, and optimize reimbursement for medical services provided to patients.

  • Setup clinic and physician accounts
  • Determine fee items and identify methods of payment
  • Enter patients records using PS Reagent software
  • Perform billing procedures using PS Reagent software
  • Select the correct billing code(s) for the procedure performed
  • Select the correct diagnostic code(s) per doctor’s diagnosis
  • Print lists, batches, and transactions
