This MSc in Environment and Energy covers a blend of scientific, technical, managerial and entrepreneurial topics such as the policies and regulations that impact on environmental management. Our aim is to prepare you for a career in the emerging energy and environmental sectors.

Programme Overview
This MSc broadens your understanding of the business skills needed to help you protect the environment as part of your job. You will graduate able to manage successful energy and environmental career challenges from the very start of your career.
The programme can be studied full time for one year or over two years part-time.
Industry Placement
Please note: you'll be registered on the MSc Environment and Energy, which includes a research project. All students will get the opportunity to apply to undertake an industrial placement as an alternative to the research project. Placements, subject to availability, are on a competitive basis and are subject to an application and interview with the placement provider. If successful, you will be moved on to the MSc Environment and Energy with Industrial Practise.
Entry Requirements
UK Entry
Applicants should have:
- At least a lower second class (2:2) honours degree or equivalent qualifications in Engineering, Science and Social Sciences.
- Applicants with non-standard qualifications will be considered on an individual basis, determined by prior study, work experience, professional qualifications, and references.

Academic Requirements
Applicants who do not cover the appropriate subjects during their degree will be considered if they have relevant industry experience.
English Language Requirements
All courses at Abertay University are taught in English. If your first language is not English, you will need to demonstrate that you meet our English language requirements.
How the Course Works
Full-time on campus students will complete the degree in one year: The academic year consists of three terms with the Master’s dissertation module completed in term three.
Part-time on campus students will complete the degree in two years: Year one consists of two terms, and Year two of three terms with the Master's dissertation module completed in the final term.
The Master’s project is an independent research project under guidance of supervisors.
Learning and Assessment
The taught course will be assessed using a combination of written coursework, presentations, examinations and portfolios, and a written dissertation. Formal examinations, class tests and reports will also feature where relevant.
You’ll be exposed to a variety of teaching, learning and assessment practices throughout the programme. This includes lectures, seminars, written/oral presentations and project work.
Field trips and industrial visits are used to develop student appreciation of the practical application of research methods and data analysis.

Please note: this course will run over 16 months full-time and 28 months part-time if you begin your studies in January.
