Medicine MBBS
Overview
The Medicine MBBS program at St Mary's University is a five-year undergraduate degree that aims to train doctors who are committed to addressing inequalities, clinicians who excel in medical science and digital health, and individuals who are passionate about making a sustainable difference to our world.

Clinical Experience with Compassion
Students will learn through active service with patients who need care the most, in bespoke innovative roles such as student health coach, social action projects, patient advocate, and medics in schools.
Digital Innovation
The program will prepare students for clinical practice using cutting-edge technology, AI, and digital health. Students will learn about advances in technology, AI, and digital health, and will have access to the Integrated Simulation and Skills Centre, E-Sports Arena, and virtual reality.
A London School of Medicine with a Global Perspective
The program will prepare doctors who can navigate both local and international healthcare challenges by embedding global health themes in the teaching. Students will learn in tranquil, nurturing surroundings on the green London campus and will be part of the inaugural international community of student doctors.

How the Degree is Taught
Teaching Methods
The MBBS degree incorporates a wide range of teaching methods, including clinical placements, lectures, workshops, tutorials, simulation, and self-directed learning.

Who Teaches this Course?
Students will be taught by academics, clinical practitioners, and patients in the new School of Medicine and on clinical placements.
Entry Requirements
Minimum Academic Requirements
- GCSEs: Minimum grade 6 in Maths, English Language, Biology, and Chemistry or Dual Science
- A Levels: Applicants should normally have, or be expected to achieve, a minimum of grades AAA at A-level, to include Chemistry or Biology at grade A, a second science grade A, and a third subject at grade A
- International Baccalaureate: Applicants should normally have, or be expected to achieve, a total score of 36 points with a grade of 6 in three Higher Level subjects, two of which must be Chemistry or Biology and another science
- International qualifications: We accept a wide range of international qualifications from countries around the world
University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT)
All applicants must take the UCAT, which assesses various skills relevant to medical education.
English Language Requirements
IELTS with at least 7.0 overall and in each component (or equivalent)
General Requirements
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old by January 1 of the academic enrolment year
- Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to declare their needs, allowing the admissions team to make reasonable adjustments during the interview process
- An Enhanced DBS check is mandatory for clinical placements, and any criminal convictions may affect admission eligibility

Tuition Fees
International: £48,000
Funding Information
All international students are required to pay a tuition fee deposit as a condition of their offer.
Additional Costs
Your tuition fees will cover the cost of all mandatory elements of your programme. Additional costs could be incurred depending on optional modules chosen and other projects undertaken.

Career Opportunities
Once you graduate and successfully complete the GMC Medical Licensing Assessment (MLA), you'll meet core requirements of a junior doctor and can apply for provisional registration with the GMC. You'll be eligible to apply for the UK NHS Foundation Programme. This two-year foundation programme provides paid training to new graduates to further develop your skills and clinical and professional competencies. Upon completion of the foundation programme, doctors can then apply for specialist training in more than 60 different areas.
