Skills Bootcamp in Agile and AI (Wiltshire)
Overview
This course is for learners seeking to develop in-demand project management skills and an awareness of the growing influence of AI.
What You'll Learn
- Learn the core foundations that underpin the Agile mindset and Agile approaches to delivery.
- Understand the meaning of Artificial Intelligence including its history and key principles.
- Gain the BCS Foundation Certificate in Agile and the BCS Foundation Certificate in Artificial intelligence with the British Computing Society.
Course Structure
Week One: Launch Week
- Connect with fellow students and engage with the course lecturer.
- Take part in a live teaching session, finalize the setup of online learning tools, and attend a dedicated Wellbeing, Employability, and Careers session.
Week Two: Agile Module
- Learn the core foundations that underpin the Agile mindset and Agile approaches to delivery.
- Understand the roles within Agile teams, including Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Development Team.
Week Three: Study Week
- Review past content, prepare for upcoming topics, and personalize your learning experience.
- Support is available through 1-to-1 sessions with lecturers and the Curriculum Administrator, as well as a tech drop-in for technical help.
Week Four: AI Module
- Learn the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, including its history, key concepts, and types.
- Explore machine learning, generative AI, large language models, and data visualization.
Assessments and Progress Review
- Progress will be reviewed in multiple formats, including verbal and written feedback, peer feedback, mock assessments, and collaborative work.
- Exams for BCS Foundation Certificate in Agile and BCS Foundation Certificate in Artificial Intelligence are formal exams and will take place at the end of each module in person at the Corsham Court campus.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be aged 19+
- Be living or working in Wiltshire
- Have the right to live and work in the UK
- Not have completed a Skills Bootcamp funded by the Department for Education (DfE) in the last 12 months
- Agree to provide mandatory personal data and supplementary information on your career outcomes for up to six months following completion of the Skills Bootcamp
- Have access to a computer
Required Equipment
- Access to a personal laptop with full admin rights and enough RAM and memory to support your studies and undertake your two exams.
- A functioning microphone, speakers, and webcam are required.
Cost
- Fully funded by the Department for Education (DfE) for learners.
- Employers may need to pay up to 30% of the total fees depending on the size of the company.
Location and Dates
- All in-person days will take place at the Corsham Court campus.

- Access to a career Development coach who can help with CV and interview skills or putting together a business plan for those in self-employment.
- Monthly check-ins from the post-Skills Bootcamp team helping you to stay on track and connecting you to the latest job opportunities.
Skills Bootcamp Outcomes
- Required to keep in touch with the university to let them know about any career progression opportunities you receive after completing the Skills Bootcamp.
- A short declaration form to fill out once you've secured new work.
British Computer Society Accreditation
- Accredited with the British Computing Society (BCS).
- Allows students to undertake the BCS Foundation Certificate in Agile and BCS Foundation Certificate in Artificial Intelligence qualifications.
