Course Overview

Our MRes in Health Science will provide you with a challenging and stimulating programme of taught and independent study in a discipline of Health and/or Wellbeing of your choice.

Course Features

• Learn how to carry out an in-depth research project
• Benefit from expert guidance from academic staff in the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing
• Develop skills that will assist your application of research into your own personal health field of work or interest
• Take a more flexible option and follow the programme over two years of study

Course Details

Learning and Teaching

• Start date: September
• Distance learning available: This course is offered as distance learning only

Assessment

• A wide variety of assessment types are used, including written assignments, presentations, portfolios, projects, and research proposals
• Students also complete a substantial independent research project

Modules

• Extended Research Project (120 Credits)
• Scientific Research Review (30 Credits)
• Scientific Research Methods (30 Credits)

Entry Requirements

• UK: A first or second-class honours degree
• International: Normally a first or second-class Honours degree or professional experience in the area of study
• If English is not your first language: IELTS 6.0 (including 5.5 in academic writing) or equivalent

Tuition Fees

Additional Tuition Fee Information

• If you are a UK student starting your degree in January / September 2025, the first year will cost you £9,250
• The University of Winchester will charge the maximum approved tuition fee per year

Additional Costs

• As one of our students, all of your teaching and assessments are included in your tuition fees
• There might be additional costs you may encounter whilst studying, including mandatory and optional costs

• We have a variety of scholarship and bursaries available to support you financially with the cost of your course

Career Prospects

• Graduates of the MRes will have the research and project management skills to be able to engage in a wide range of opportunities in clinical, industry or academic research settings
