Law with French Law LLB Honours
Overview
The Law with French Law LLB Honours course at the University of Westminster is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the core legal principles of both the English and French legal systems. The course is intellectually aligned with SQE1 and SQE2 and meets the requirements of the Bar Standards Board and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
Course Structure
The course is divided into four years, with the first two years focusing on the development of core skills and knowledge in law. The third year is spent studying law in French at one of the university's partner institutions in France, and the fourth year is spent back at the University of Westminster.
Teaching and Assessment
Teaching methods include lectures, seminar-based discussion, class presentations, invited guest speakers, and practical group exercises. Assessment methods include open- and closed-book exams, in-class tests, oral presentations, and written coursework.
Entry Requirements
- A Levels: BBC (112 UCAS Tariff points), with French grade B
- T levels: 112 UCAS Tariff points + Fluent in French + DELF B2
- International Baccalaureate: 112 UCAS Tariff points from the IB including 6 in HL French
- BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM + Fluent in French + DELF B2
- BTEC Diploma: DD + Fluent in French + DELF B2
- Access: 112 UCAS Tariff points from the Access course + Fluent in French + DELF B2
In addition to one of the above, students should have:
- GCSE English Language: grade 4/C – IB grade 4 Higher Level
- GCSE Maths: grade 4/C – IB grade 4
If the first language is not English, students will need an IELTS of 6.0 overall, with at least 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in the other components.
Fees and Funding
- UK tuition fee: £9,535 (Price per academic year)
- International tuition fee: £17,000 (Price per academic year)
