The BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance with a Foundation Year course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance principles. This course is ideal for students who do not initially meet the entry requirements for the standard Accounting and Finance degree.
Course Overview
The course has been specifically designed to allow home and EU students to undertake additional level 3 study, ensuring they are successful on their chosen degree course. The foundation year itself will equip students with the required knowledge and skills to proceed on to any of the undergraduate degree courses offered within the Business faculty.

Entry Requirements
Essential Requirements
- 80 UCAS Tariff points
- GCSE Maths at grade C/4 or above
Qualification Requirements
- A Level: 80 UCAS Tariff points / CDD (or equivalent)
- AS Level: Must be in a different subject to A Levels
- Pearson BTEC: 80 UCAS Tariff points
- Access to HE Diploma: Pass with 60 credits, 45 credits at level 3
- Other qualifications are considered on a case-by-case basis
International Students
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: Obtain a minimum of 24 points overall
- English language requirements: IELTS 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in each band
