Materials Science Technologist Degree Apprenticeship
Course Description
The Materials Science Technologist Degree Apprenticeship has been designed to produce Material Technologists who can operate across a range of engineering sectors, including manufacturing, transportation, construction, petrochemical, nuclear, material failure, rheology, traditional and advanced ceramics.

What You Will Study
You will be studying this course part-time over four years. The degree apprenticeship is a work-based learning qualification, comprised of off-the-job and on-the-job learning. Throughout your studies, you will be able to apply your learning into practice within the workplace.

Entry Requirements
Employment Requirements
You must be in paid employment for at least 30 hours per week and your employer must agree to cover the costs of the apprenticeship.
Academic Requirements
Employers usually set their own selection criteria and entry requirements. However, typically an applicant might be expected to have level 3 qualifications, such as:
- A-Level Maths
- A-Level Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering
You will also be required to have five GCSE passes including the following subjects:
- Maths
- English
- Science

The cost will be paid for by the employer.
