Overview
The Event Management BA (Hons) degree is designed to give you the management and operational skills needed to succeed in the events industry. You'll learn how to stage events and develop the management, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills required to excel in this rapidly evolving sector.
Course Description
This degree is part of our Centre for Contemporary Hospitality and Tourism, which has been awarded the prestigious International Centre of Excellence (ICE) in Tourism and Hospitality accreditation. The course shares key generic modules with our International Tourism Management and International Hospitality Management degrees, so you can appreciate how these three specialisms work together to make up the 'visitor economy' (the services and experiences that attract visitors to a destination.)
Key Areas of Learning
- Eventful Societies: This module will define events management and evaluate its history and the role of events in the modern society.
- Business Environment of the Visitor Economy: This module will examine the relationship between events and the business environment of the visitor economy.
- Current Scenarios, Future Directions: This module will explore the current scenarios and future directions of the events industry.
- Organisational Transformation: This module will examine the process of organisational transformation in the events industry.
- Project Design, Planning and Management: This module will teach you how to design, plan, and manage events.
- Service Experience Co-Creation: This module will explore the concept of service experience co-creation in the events industry.
