International Business Management with Foundation Year BSc (Hons)

Course Description

This course enables you to select a pathway so that your degree is tailored specifically for you. Each pathway allows you to gain specific skills depending on your personal interests and career aspirations and will determine the focus of your course and the modules that you will take.

The Highlights

  • Once you've completed your Foundation Year, you'll then join the honours degree and spend the first year covering all aspects of international business management to find out where your passions and talents lie.
  • In the second year, you can study abroad for a semester and gain valuable experience of another culture and how business operates in another country.

Including a foundation year as part of your four-year study programme will give you a head start in your academic and professional life. The foundation year offers the chance to strengthen your skills, knowledge and confidence – with extensive support from our expert staff – before you advance to stage one of your honours degree.

  • In our impressive Financial Markets Lab, you can harness the same information and technology used by financial professionals all over the world.
  • You will be working with the latest data on companies and financial markets, including director profiles, and have access to analysis of current affairs in Bloomberg Intelligence.

Studying Abroad and Overseas Trips

  • In your second year, we encourage you to spend time studying abroad for a semester, so you can see international business from a different perspective.
  • We have a wide range of overseas partners you could study with.

  • Our collaborations with regional, national and international employers help you amass up-to-date knowledge and build experience.
  • You will attend insightful guest lectures, learn about real-world case studies and get to work on practical consultancy projects.

Work Placements and Internships

  • We also offer you plenty of opportunities to take work placements or internships, at home or abroad.
  • In your second year you must complete at least 30 hours of work experience, and then between years two and three, you can choose to take a placement year or a summer internship.

  • A Level: DDD
  • T Level: Pass
  • BTEC: MMP
  • GCSE: GCSE Maths and English are preferred, however if you don't have these qualifications you will be able to undertake Maths and English at Level 2 as part of your course of study
  • Access to HE: Pass Access to HE Diploma with 60 credits: 45 at Level 3 with a minimum of Distinction: 0, Merit: 24, Pass: 21
  • English language requirements: IELTS: 6.0 (with at least 5.5 in each skills area)

2025 Entry
