Program Overview

Global Leadership (7YYFN040M)

Course Overview

This module comprises an introduction to and overview of leadership in micro and macro contexts. It explicates relevant theory, illustrates theory through case studies and supports you in applying knowledge and understanding in scenarios. The specific examples chosen range widely across the world.

Course Features

This module aims to develop leadership skills by producing insights, critical awareness and conceptual understanding relating to leadership in a global context. Curriculum content comprises, first, leadership theory, ranging from the canonical Full Range Leadership Model, to leadership theories from other cultures, including Taoism, and the Southern African theory of Ubuntu. Theories are illustrated through case studies including leadership in the pandemic; the practices of multinational soft drinks companies in India; and the leadership strategy of the Anti-Apartheid movement in South Africa. Scenario-based learning will support you in putting theory into practice.
