This course aims to give you the opportunity to develop the practical skills and experience you need for accounting and finance roles. Once you have graduated, you should have the confidence to provide sound financial advice and make effective financial decisions.


We have designed this course to reflect business systems, standards and practices from around the world. It draws upon international case studies with the objective of fostering your intercultural fluency, and aims to develop your analytical skills, perspectives on financial strategy and strategic thinking.

How you'll learn

This course can be offered on a part-time basis. Whilst we would like to give you all the information about our part-time offering here, it is tailored for each course each year depending on the number of part-time applicants. Therefore, the part-time teaching arrangements vary. Request further information about part-time study.


Teaching contact hours

As a full-time undergraduate student, you will study modules totalling 120 credits each academic year. A typical 20 credit module requires a total of 200 hours study. This is made up of teaching contact hours, guided and independent study.


Guided and independent study

Throughout your studies, you will be expected to spend time in guided and independent study to make up the required study hours per module. You’ll be digging deeper into topics, review what you’ve learned and complete assignments. This can be completed around your personal commitments. As you progress through your studies, you’ll spend more time in independent study.


Online learning

As an innovative university, we use different teaching methods including online tools and emerging technologies. So, some of your teaching hours and assessments may be delivered online.


Assessment

This course will be assessed using a variety of methods which will vary depending upon the module. The Assessment methods may include: essays, reports, presentations, simulations and workshop activities.


All of our assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate subject knowledge and develop professional skills, including report-writing, structuring a logical argument, analysing data or making a compelling presentation.

Our Trading Floor has been created to reflect the environment where traders work at the London Stock Exchange. It contains Bloomberg Terminals, which provide access to real-time global financial data, which students learn how to use through teaching and simulated projects.


Standard & Poor Market Intelligence Suite (S&P)

The S&P Suite contains some of the same tools used by Wall Street. Its databases and tools can help you track performance, identify investment ideas, and keep up with industry news and insights.
