Course Overview
Our tuition-fee funded PGCE with QTS enables trainee teachers to gain Qualified Teacher Status while on placements in schools in England.
Course Details
The course is offered at primary level (for trainees teaching pupils aged 5-11) and in a range of subjects at secondary level (for trainees teaching pupils aged 11-16 or 11-18). The course is also offered for the 14-19 age range in subjects which are usually only taught in Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Trainees train to teach 'on the job', learning with the support of expert practitioners in schools.
- Academic learning takes place online with the support of experienced university lead mentors.
- Flexible delivery approaches ensure the course is accessible to trainee teachers across England.
- Choice of 20 subject specialisms at secondary level (11-19 age range).
Accreditation and Professional Recognition
This course is accredited by the Department for Education (DfE) for the 2024/25 intake.

Entry Requirements
- UK applicants must:
- Hold an undergraduate degree, or equivalent as assessed by UK ENIC.
- Hold a GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in maths and English, and for trainees teaching children aged 5-11, hold a standard equivalent to a GCSE (Grade 4) in a science subject.
Equivalency Tests
