    • Examine traditional energy systems, focusing on the global energy situation, climate change and the social cost of energy.
    • Explore renewable energy challenges, system transitions and technological solutions, modelling energy systems and evaluating energy use across sectors, aiming for sustainable energy development.
  • Risk and Economic Management of Energy Transition – 30 credits
    • Explore the economic and political implications of the global shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
    • Examine regulatory challenges, financial mechanisms and market dynamics, while developing skills to evaluate transition risks and contribute to sustainable energy strategies for businesses and economies.
  • Energy Sector, Hydrogen and Renewable Resources – 30 credits
    • Explore the skills needed to evaluate industries and firms in the energy sector, understanding how it operates and the environmental factors influencing managerial decisions and success.
    • Critically assess the energy sectors, highlighting the need to accelerate decarbonisation by scaling up renewables, upgrading grid and storage infrastructures and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Entry Requirements

  • UK: An honours degree 2:2 or above (or international equivalent) in any science, technology, engineering or mathematics discipline.
  • International: An honours degree 2:2 or above (or international equivalent) in any science, technology, engineering or mathematics discipline.
  • English language requirements: IELTS: 6.5 overall, with no component lower than 5.5.
