Overview
A Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in industrial engineering from Wichita State will prepare you for high-paying, high-demand career options in research, design, improvement, and management of systems in manufacturing and service organizations. You’ll have access to some of the best research facilities in the country and the chance to work and research with faculty and industry professionals on campus and throughout Kansas’ largest city.
Admission to the Program
To be admitted into the Ph.D. program, you must:
- Have a minimum 3.25 GPA in all graduate coursework
- Have a master’s degree in engineering, physical science, or other related discipline
- Applicants whose native language is not English must submit official, acceptable scores for either the TOEFL, the Academic Module of the IELTS examination, or the PTE-Academic test
Curriculum
The Ph.D. in industrial engineering curriculum equips you with the knowledge and skills to conduct independent research–and offers advanced knowledge in the IME concentrations.
To earn the Ph.D., students must pass comprehensive exams, a dissertation approval exam, and dissertation defense.
