Graduate Certificate in Nano Engineering

Overview

Wichita State's graduate certificate in nano engineering is designed for engineering and technology professionals and graduate students who want a strong understanding of nano-engineering fundamentals and in-depth knowledge in critical and upcoming areas such as nanotechnology in electronics, drugs, vehicles, laser nano-built products, and other nano-related manufacturing and new emerging nanotechnologies.


Curriculum

The 12-credit-hour certificate covers the following courses:


  • Required:
    • Introduction to Nanotechnology
  • Select three from the following:
    • Polymeric Composite Materials
    • Advanced Biomaterials
    • Synthesis and Applications of Nanomaterials
    • Corrosion Science Engineering
    • Advanced Laser Applications in Manufacturing

Admission to the Program

There are two paths to admission to the program:


  • For those already enrolled in graduate school: Simply complete the Declaration of Intent to Pursue a Certificate Form.
  • Prospective students: Apply using the Graduate School application for admission.
