Course Summary
This course offers expert tuition and exploration of creative dance making, compositional forms, research methods, and critical frameworks. Students will receive support to realize their creative ambitions, developing their creative dance skills, theoretical understanding, and research interests.
Modules
Research Methods and Critical Thinking (20 Credits) Core
This module covers research methodologies, fieldwork methods, ethnography, practice-based research, retrieval skills, referencing, and academic writing.
Research Project (60 Credits) Core
Students will develop a substantial research-led project, which can take various forms, including practical work, performances, live shows, exhibitions, workshops, lectures, or presentations.
Creative Practitioner 1 (20 Credits) Core
This module provides the opportunity to investigate and develop personal and creative practice, including performance, composition, arrangement, exhibition, recording, film, and coursework.
Creative Practitioner 2 (20 Credits) Core
Students will expand upon and develop greater knowledge and depth of inquiry within their personal and creative practice.
Creative Practitioner 3 (40 Credits) Core
This module focuses on developing a more distinctive and original synthesis of creative practice.
Dance Frameworks and Practices (20 Credits) Core
This module examines methodological approaches to explore and analyze dance practices and frameworks in various contexts.
