Overview
This extended accounting and finance degree includes a foundation year to help you adjust to study at university.
The degree’s modules cover a range of key areas - including financial and management accounting, finance & economics, business & company law, finance, and financial management - which will help you build the skills and knowledge you need to kick-start your career.
Recent graduates of the BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance degree have joined banks and professional services firms, including KPMG, Grant Thornton and Barclays Investment Bank.
The programme is accredited with the following professional bodies: ACCA and AIA; which offer exemptions on ACCA and AIA papers. Students on the degree have a chance to apply to be selected for the prestigious Robert Holman Bursary.
Entry Requirements
UK Citizens and Permanent Residents
- 64 UCAS Tariff points. We accept A Levels, T Levels, BTECs, Access to HE and all other qualifications with UCAS Tariff points.
- In addition, you will need: GCSE Mathematics at grade 4/C. Equivalent qualifications may be considered.
We make Contextual offers to this programme. Applicants that meet specific eligibility criteria will be made a contextual offer with a reduced tariff of up to 16 UCAS Tariff points. Fees and Funding
Tuition Fees
- Home: £5,760 for Year 0; £9,535 each for Years 1-3
- International: £17,500

- Resources: you may need to purchase books for your studies, as well as specific computer software. Our Stockwell Street library also offers extensive books for loan, access to journals and digital resources.

The Greenwich Bursary
This bursary is worth £700 for new undergraduate students with a low household income, entering Year 0 or 1 who meet the eligibility criteria.
EU Bursary
Following the UK's departure from the European Union, we are supporting new EU students by offering a substantial fee-reduction for studying.
Careers and Placements
Will I Have a Work Placement?
Work placements are optional, and you are responsible for arranging your placement with support from the university. Previous Greenwich Business School students have secured their placement year with organisations such as the NHS, Nomura, RSK, Charlton Athletic, Disney, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and more.
How Long is My Placement?
Sandwich placements are 9-12 months of full-time paid work. A sandwich year is taken between the second and third years of study.
What Are the Financial Arrangements?
Sandwich placements are usually paid at competitive rates for entry-level roles in your chosen industry. The Employability Service will only promote paid opportunities to you.
What Sort of Careers Do Graduates Pursue?
Graduates entering the accountancy profession may go into public practice by joining an accountancy firm.
This can offer you the experience of working with multiple clients across various industries or the opportunity to specialise, for example, in auditing, stockbroking or consultancy.
Recent positions secured by our graduates include assurance associate at Grant Thornton, financial modeller at KPMG and counter risk trader at Barclays Investment Bank.
Support and Advice
Academic Skills and Study Support
Access study skills support through your academic tutor, our subject librarians and our online academic skills centre.
Where appropriate, we provide support in academic English and mathematics. If you need support to use particular IT packages for a specific module, we provide training for this.
We also offer a range of activities to support you throughout your studies during GRE Fest, which includes several workshops that support our students and provide useful information.
All students will also be assigned an academic tutor as the first point of contact for any academic queries.
Support from the Department
At Greenwich Business School, you can access comprehensive support through our dedicated teams. The GBS Student Support team handles course-related matters via the Digital Student Centre.
Our Faculty Student Advisors (FSAs) provide pastoral and welfare support to first-year students.
