International Tourism and Hospitality Management, BA Hons

Our International Tourism and Hospitality Management degree is designed to unlock the potential of remarkable future leaders and exciting opportunities in the global tourism and hospitality industries. Hospitality and tourism are some of the fastest growing business sectors in the world, and the UK alone employs over 3 million people in these industries.


This programme will equip students with not only skills linked with tourism and hospitality industries and management practices, but also mindsets to become active advocates for positive social changes and responsible citizens who create a vision for a more sustainable and accessible future. A special feature of this programme are the hands-on experiences. These include the chance to take part in simulations, an internship, industry-facing learning experiences and a international study tour. You will also have the opportunity to study a second language.


This degree will set graduates on course to a variety of careers in the areas of tourism or hospitality management such as: tourism product development manager, food and beverage manager, cruise director, hotel and resort manager, destination marketing and sales, aviation and airport manager, tourism policy, and tour operator businesses. Graduates can also launch their own tourism and hospitality enterprises.

UK citizens and permanent residents

  • 112 UCAS Tariff points. We accept A Levels, T Levels, BTECs, Access to HE and all other qualifications with UCAS Tariff points.
  • We make Contextual offers to this programme. Applicants that meet specific eligibility criteria will be made a contextual offer with a reduced tariff of up to 16 UCAS Tariff points. Other entry requirements such as GCSEs, Interview, etc., will still need to be met.

How you will learn

Teaching

  • Learning takes place through a combination of timetabled learning and independent study.
  • You can view more information about how each module is taught within our 'What you will study' section.
  • Seminars and workshops enable you to discuss and develop your understanding of topics covered in lectures in smaller groups.
  • Timetabled learning may fall between 9am and 9pm depending on your courses and tutorials.

Independent learning

  • Outside of timetabled sessions, you'll need to dedicate self-study time (around 20-30 hours per week) to prepare for coursework, presentations and exams.
  • You can use Stockwell Street library and online resources to support further reading and research.

Assessment

  • You can view how each module is assessed within our 'What you will study' section.
  • Each course has formal assessments which count towards your grade.
  • Some courses may also include 'practice' assignments, which help you monitor progress and do not count towards your final grade.

  • Work placements are optional, and you are responsible for arranging your placement with support from the university.
