Digital Engineering with Industrial Practice, MSc

Overview

Our MSc in Digital Engineering equips you with advanced skills in digital design, smart manufacturing, and Industry 5.0 technologies. This program is perfect for aspiring engineers and designers, bridging cutting-edge technology with practical application. You'll gain hands-on experience with industry-leading tools and techniques, preparing you to drive efficiency and innovation in modern manufacturing.


Course Content

The curriculum includes four core modules: Research, Planning & Communications, Strategy & Management, Machine Learning and its Application, and Digital Engineering, along with a 60-credit individual research project. You can choose between two option sets: Applied AI or Design and Manufacturing.


Option Set 1: Applied Artificial Intelligence for Engineering

  • Developing new intelligent systems by building on AI and machine learning concepts
  • Exploring technologies behind systems like AlphaZero, Siri, and Alexa
  • Learning to analyse and create future technologies

Option Set 2: Design and Manufacturing

  • Technical expertise in Computer Aided Manufacturing and Product Design Engineering

  • Advanced digital technologies, AI-driven solutions, and topics like Advanced Rapid Prototyping and Digital Engineering

UK Citizens and Permanent Residents

  • An undergraduate (honours) degree at 2:2, or above, in Engineering or Design (or related environment)
  • Applicants without a degree that have relevant professional experience or membership of an appropriate professional body may be considered
