About the course
The Bachelor of Human Sciences (Pharmaceutical Health) and Doctor of Pharmacy is a four-year program, designed for you to excel as a pharmacist, highlighting the critical role pharmacists play as frontline healthcare providers and equipping you for the expanding scope of practice across diverse healthcare settings and specialised fields.
Upon graduating, you'll receive both a Bachelor of Human Sciences majoring in Pharmaceutical Health, and a Doctor of Pharmacy, and will be prepared to excel as pharmacists.
Course Structure
The Combined Bachelor's and Doctor's degree consists of 216 credit points (normally 36 units), comprising:
- 120 credit points (normally 20 units) of an undergraduate component, including:
- No more than 60 credit points (normally 10 units) at Level 1
- At least 60 credit points (normally 10 units) at Level 2 and Level 3, including at least 18 credit points (normally 3 units) at Level 3
- The degree-specific major: MJD-PHEAL Pharmaceutical Health
- Any relevant foundation units
- A postgraduate component, including at least 96 credit points (normally 16 units) completed at Level 4 and Level 5

Course accreditation
The Doctor of Pharmacy (51500) is accredited by the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) and is approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia as a qualification leading to registration as a pharmacist in Australia.
Graduates are eligible to register to practise as a pharmacist in Australia after completion of an internship in a community or hospital pharmacy.
