About the Course

  • Landscape architecture is the planning, design, and management of our natural and built landscapes for the benefit of communities and the future health of the planet.
  • In this major, you will develop methods for understanding landscapes and communities, learn to design and plan for dynamic and resilient environments, and gain essential skills in critical thinking.
  • You’ll graduate with strong theoretical and practical knowledge that enable you to produce creative landscape design outcomes.
  • Landscape architects respond to issues like climate change and biodiversity loss by applying systems thinking and practice to develop long-term, large-scale solutions.
  • This major will prepare you for postgraduate studies in landscape architecture or related fields.

Course Accreditation

  • Students who complete a Landscape Architecture major to a sufficiently high standard may proceed to the Master of Landscape Architecture (Coursework).
  • The Master of Architecture (25550) is accredited by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA).
