International Cybersecurity
Course Description
The International Cybersecurity extended major prepares you for specialist cybersecurity roles with a global perspective. You’ll gain the practical skills and knowledge to lead creation, implementation and management of secure computer systems across a range of exciting career paths. You’ll be able to protect people and their data from cyber attacks as you draw on your studies across international relations, ethics and law.

Career Opportunities
Almost every Information and Communications Technology career path encompasses some aspect of security, including and beyond the job roles of cybersecurity specialist, information technology specialist, software engineer or information specialist.
Cybersecurity career opportunities continue to grow across all industries including energy and resources engineering, bioinformatics and biochemistry, computational physics and astronomy, transportation, health, finance, marketing, geophysics, geographic information systems and biomechanics.

Mathematics Requirement
This major requires a certain level of Mathematics. If you do not meet this level, you may be able to take additional Mathematics units in your first year to satisfy this requirement.

English Competency
English is the language of instruction and assessment at UWA and you will need to meet the English language requirements of the University to be eligible for a place.
Minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.
