Entry Requirements

Admission Requirements

• Achieved an ATAR of at least 75, or equivalent as recognised by UWA.
• Assured pathway offer.
• Achieved a score of at least 100 in UWA's Experienced-based Entry assessment.
• A place in a relevant UWA access program.

English Competency

• English is the language of instruction and assessment at UWA.
• Applicants must meet the English language requirements of the University to be eligible for a place.
• This course has higher ELC requirements.
• Applicants presenting with the IELTS Academic require an overall score of at least 7.5, a minimum 7.0 in the reading and writing bands, and a minimum score of 8.0 in the listening and speaking bands.

Online Personal Statement

• As part of applying for entry to this course, students are required to submit an online personal statement demonstrating they have the necessary personal characteristics to become a successful educator.

Course Structure

• In the first three years, students will complete units that familiarise them with all of the learning areas of the primary school curriculum, as well as developmental and learning theory that enables them to design effective learning programs.
• In the final semester, students will complete an honours project that will be linked to their specialisation and which can be completed as either a formal dissertation or an action research project.

Course Accreditation

• The Bachelor of Education (Primary) (Honours) is accredited by the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
• Graduates of the program will meet the qualification requirements for Provisional Registration with the TRBWA.
