Course Description
This course introduces the engineering profession and the skills required for academic success and the fundamentals of professional practice and leadership in engineering. These skills apply to the classroom, workplace, and life, and include: time management and goal setting; interpersonal skills; career planning; engineering and society, including elements of ethics, equity, concepts of sustainable development, environmental stewardship, collaborative consultation with Indigenous communities, and public safety. Special emphasis will be placed on the development of effective interview techniques, skill assessment and analysis, and career management and development.
