Certificate in Digital Sales Transformation

Overview

The Certificate in Digital Sales Transformation is a one-year blended programme that equips learners with the skills to grow their online presence and take their business to the next level. Learners will develop the skills to use social media, sell online, and find audiences to grow sales.

This minor award programme (30 ECTS) comprises five modules:


Course Modules

Digital Disruption in Business (5 ECTS)

On successful completion of this module, learners are able to:


  • Critically evaluate how technology is disrupting retail business and its competitive landscape.
  • Assess how leaders can leverage digital technology to grow their retail business.
  • Discuss how digital transformation can be employed effectively in a retail environment.
  • Analyse how emerging technologies are impacting retailers and their consumers.

Technologies for Business (5 ECTS)

On successful completion of this module, learners are able to:


  • Discuss the role that information technology and information systems play in the business world.
  • Apply IT concepts relevant to business and understand how they relate to each other and are relevant to retail.
  • Differentiate information system types, and explain how they are used to shape business operations and the decision-making process, within a retail environment.
  • Apply practical skills in the most common office applications, and the platforms used in retail.

Digital Communications and Customer Engagement (10 ECTS)

On successful completion of this module, learners are able to:


  • Evaluate the role and contribution of digital marketing in retail.
  • Analyse digital marketing channels and best practices used by organisations.
  • Discuss how digital marketing performance can be measured.
  • Competently use digital marketing tools and platforms with particular applications to retail.
  • Discuss the importance of ethics, cultural dimensions and social responsibility in customer engagement.

Selling, Negotiating and Sales Management (5 ECTS)

On successful completion of this module, learners are able to:


  • Explain the concept of selling in the information era.
  • Evaluate the dynamic nature of forces that impact customers’ buying decisions and determine how sales strategies are modified as a result.
  • Create a sales strategy demonstrating a range of selling skills from prospect identification to long-term relationship building and create a master selling plan.
  • Examine the roles and responsibilities of the sales manager.

Personal and Professional Development (5 ECTS)

On successful completion of this module, learners are able to:


  • Identify the key skills sought by employers and the importance of developing these skills.
  • Use effective means to source employment and internship opportunities, with particular reference to the retail sector.
  • Demonstrate key written and presentation skills for employment/internship opportunities.
  • Demonstrate professional job interview skills.
  • Implement techniques to support effective self-management and development.
  • Present an external image that is positive, professional and ethical.

All applicants must have a good working knowledge of DSLR or mirrorless camera operation, including basic camera settings and exposure.


If you do not yet have experience using a DSLR or mirrorless camera or are unfamiliar with manual settings and exposure, we recommend completing our 2-Day Digital Photography for Beginners or 10-Week Professional Certificate in Digital Photography & Visual Media before enrolling in this certificate programme.


English Language

If English is not your native language, you must show that your English level is of a suitable standard. For further information, please get in touch with a member of the International Office.

These Irish Government-funded programmes are only available to Non-EU/Non-EEA applicants who are currently resident in Ireland with an Immigration Stamp 4/Stamp 4 EU FAM, who have been living in Ireland with a valid Stamp 4/Stamp 4 EU FAM for 3 out of the last 5 years. The period of residency for holders of Stamp 4/Stamp 4 EU FAM is calculated from the date of receipt of the Stamp 4/Stamp 4 EU FAM.

All QQI accredited programmes of education and training of 3 months or longer duration are covered by arrangements under section 65 (4) of the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act 2012 whereby, in the event of the provider ceasing to provide the programme for any reason, enrolled learners may transfer to a similar programme at another provider, or, in the event that this is not practicable, the fees most recently paid will be refunded.
