UFV's two-year Criminal Justice diploma is an excellent springboard to help you secure a front-line job in the criminal justice field. The program provides well-rounded curriculum that includes criminology, psychology, sociology, communications, political science, and some great electives.

Field Work Practicum
In your final term, you participate in a field work practicum that provides you with supervised work experience and feedback. You work with your field practice coordinator to identify a placement that meets your learning goals.

Career Outlook
WorkBC lists police officer as one of the top 100 opportunity occupations in B.C., especially in the Lower Mainland. High demand for law enforcement staff will rise until at least 2025, both because the population is growing and older officers are moving into retirement.
Transfer Options
If you wish to continue your education after two years, you may go directly into the third year of the Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice program. The diploma program also offers a transfer option to BCIT Bachelor of Technology in Forensic Investigation.
