Overview
The Certificate of Graduate Study in Maternal and Child Health is a 12-credit program designed to promote the health and well-being of women, infants, children, adolescents, fathers, and families. Through graduate-level coursework, students will examine issues, outcomes, and disparities at various life course stages, providing them with the tools to analyze and develop policies, programs, and initiatives to improve maternal and child health.

- Introduction to Maternal and Child Health
Elective Courses (9 credits)
- At least one of the following (3 credits):
- Reproductive and Perinatal Epidemiology
- Reproductive Environmental Health
- Adolescent Health
- Global Maternal & Child Health
- Child Health Promotion
- Electives (6 credits)
- For the remaining 6 credits, students may choose from a list of designated electives that relate to maternal and child health (MCH). These courses will encompass at least two different disciplines, positioning students to work effectively with colleagues across many sectors.

- AIDS Epidemiology
- Addiction and Public Health

International Requirements
- International students must submit a minimum TOEFL score of 98, IELTS score of 7.0, or Duolingo score of 125.
- UAlbany SOPHAS TOEFL code is 2532.
- The TOEFL or IELTS is not required for international students who have completed at least four semesters of full-time study within a four-year time frame from the time of application, and maintained at least a B average at a college or university in the United States or a country from an approved list.

- Official transcripts from EVERY post-secondary academic institution attended, including college coursework completed during high school, must be sent directly from the institution to University at Albany Office of Graduate Admissions.
- One Letter of Recommendation
- Preferably faculty or supervisor in a health-related field
- Letters must be signed and on institutional/organizational letterhead

- Please Note: This program is not eligible for federal financial aid.
- The MCH Certificate is offered as an on-campus program. While students may opt to choose online courses to fulfill some of the courses when available, the certificate cannot currently be completed fully online.
