Overview
The FdA in Health and Wellbeing (Assistant Practitioner) Higher Apprenticeship is a course designed to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours in line with the occupational standards for Assistant Practitioners.

- Year 1:
- Personal and Professional Development (Mandatory)
- Inclusive Communication for Professional Practice (Mandatory)
- Human Anatomy and Physiology (Mandatory)
- Foundation Of Acute and Long-Term Conditions (Mandatory)
- Practice Learning 1 (Mandatory)
- Year 2:
- Preparation for Practice (EPA)
- Contemporary Health and Wellbeing (Mandatory)
- Promoting Person-Centered Care Delivery (Mandatory)
- Research And Leadership for Professional Practice (Mandatory)
- Practice Learning 2 (Mandatory)
Entry Requirements
UK Academic Requirements
- 80 UCAS Points (or above)
- CDD (A-Level)
- MMP (BTEC)
- Pass A*-C (T Level)
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above
International Requirements
- IELTS 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components) where English is not the students' first language
Non-Academic Requirements
- Students must be employed within the Health and Social Care Sector (minimum 30 hour per week contract)
- Satisfactory occupational health check
- Satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
- Two satisfactory references
Apprenticeship Funding
Degree Apprenticeships are only offered to students undertaking the course as part of their employment. Apprenticeship training will therefore be funded directly by employers or by employers in partnership with Government.
Facilities and Resources
The Health and Wellbeing building provides students with a variety of state-of-the-art clinical simulation facilities, including two simulated hospital wards, a midwifery birthing unit, physiotherapy teaching spaces, a sports and exercise facility and a working radiography imaging suite.

Graduates of the Foundation Degree of Arts in Health and Wellbeing (Assistant Practitioner) Higher Apprenticeship will be well placed to take advantage of a variety of career opportunities which exist in the health and social care arena.
